Your pick of the week: BODYPUMP. 01.10.2021. 

BODYPUMP is a fast-paced, barbell-based workout that's specifically designed to help you get lean, toned and fit. It uses a combination of motivating music, fantastic instructors and scientifically proven moves to help you achieve these targets more quickly than you would be working out on your own.

How does BODYPUMP work?

BODYPUMP makes use of what's known as The Rep Effect. This is proven to help you develop lean, athletic muscle by lifting light weights while performing high repetitions instead of heavyweights but with fewer reps.

What are the Benefits of BODYPUMP?

There are loads of benefits of attending BODYPUMP workouts. It's superb for all sorts of fitness training, whether you're looking to lose weight, build muscle or tone what you've got; BODYPUMP can help you achieve your goals, and quickly, too.

How many times a week should you do a BODYPUMP?

BODYPUMP challenges all of your major muscle groups, so we recommend you do no more than two to three workouts a week and make sure you have a day off in between. Add two or three cardio workouts into the mix and you'll shape and tone your body in no time.

What do I need to bring to a class? 

Just you, a smile and a ton of energy! We supply all the weights and the bars for you to use, as well as a step for each participant in the class upon which you can perform moves such as chest presses. 

Is BODYPUMP OK for beginners?

Beginners are always welcome, even if you've never lifted a barbell before. People of all shapes and sizes take BODYPUMP because it's excellent cardio and strength workout—and it's never dull.

Do I need to be strong to take part in BODYPUMP?

These classes have options to suit just about everybody. For example, if you're new to the programme, you can start with very light weights – or even just the bar – and only complete the first four or five tracks in your initial few sessions. This will help you build a platform of strength and fitness, from which you can start to increase the weights you're lifting.

Can I bring a friend to a BODYPUMP class? 

Yes, absolutely. If you are already working out with us, you can pick up a free gust pass voucher to give to your friend to use. Just arrive a few minutes before the class starts so we can get you on our system and the free pass added to their account. 

Our BODYPUMP instructors are Les Mills Trained, qualified and are experienced at delivering the sessions. If you have any questions, please ask before the class starts. Our instructors will be more than happy to help, guide and support you at all stages of the session.

Cancellation policy

  1. Notice of cancellation must be given at least 4 hours before the booking; otherwise, a fee will be retained for non-members and applied to members' accounts at the standard price of the activity.
  2. All leisure users who fail to attend and/or cancel within 4 hours on three occasions within a 30 day period will lose their booking privileges for a month.
