Teignmouth Lido will remain closed for the 2021 season as we have been successful in a grant funding bid to the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme which will enable us to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions by installing new, green technology at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre, Teignmouth Lido and Broadmeadow Sports Centre. Under the terms of the grant funding, the deadline for completing this work is September which means it will need to be carried out over the summer.  As a result we will not be able to open The Lido this year and there may be some disruption at the two centres.

Over the next six months the £2.3 million grant will be spent installing Solar PV, battery storage and building management system upgrades at all three buildings as part of our emerging Carbon Action Plan. Gas boilers at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre and the Lido will be replaced with low-carbon air source heat pumps and pool circulation pumps will be replaced with high-efficiency modern equivalents. Lighting systems at Broadmeadow will be upgraded with modern LED equivalents throughout.

This investment will have a positive impact on all three locations in the future.

There are currently no activities available.

Set in a beautiful location overlooking the sea, our 25m pool hosts a variety of swimming activities.

Supervision of children:

A responsible adult (16+) may bring 2 children under the age of 8 but only 1 of those children can be under 5 years. The adult must be in the water with the children at all times.

Floats at lifeguard's discretion. For safety reasons we cannot allow masks, snorkels, fins or wet suits during fun sessions.

We welcome swimmers with disabilities and every effort has been made to make the Lido as accessible as possible. These is a hearing loop at reception, toilet with grab rails and steps available for entry into the pool. However, we regret that the lido is not suitable for some wheelchair users as we have no pool hoist.

What are people saying

What a beautiful night for a swim! I swam my mile and then decided to stay on for an hour long conditioning class! I met some lovely lane mates and really enjoyed the company despite being totally and utterly exhausted! Off for a well deserved plate of fish and chips as the sun goes down.

The best place in Teignmouth. A real asset to the town.

We spent so much time at the Lido in the summer, we cannot wait for more hot weather to spend time with our family and friends.
