Teignmouth Lido is a stunning outdoor pool located in the seaside town of Teignmouth, Devon. Our 25 metre pool is heated, hosts a variety of swimming activities and is open from May to September each year. When the doors open in May, swimmers and visitors will know that the lighting and heating systems are among the most eco-friendly of any pool thanks to the decarbonisation investments made last year. Cost savings from cutting out carbon energy means the pool can run without facing the pressure of increased energy costs.
Facilities
Our lido offers a variety of facilities to ensure you have an enjoyable and comfortable experience. These include:
- A heated 25m outdoor swimming pool.
- Seated area spaced around the pool.
- Vending machines for drinks and snacks.
- Changing rooms with hot showers and toilets.
- Lockers to keep your belongings safe.
- You will need 20p to use a locker. Please note we will not be able to exchange cash as we are a cashless facility.
We apologise but this facility does not have a pool hoist but does have gradient pool steps and ambulant changing facilities. The nearest swimming pool with a pool hoist is Dawlish Leisure Centre, Sandy Lane, Dawlish.
Activities
Teignmouth Lido offers a range of activities for visitors of all ages. Whether you want to take a leisurely swim or have a splash with your family, we have something for everyone. Our activities are available on our Teignbridge Leisure App or are displayed in the below timetable:
- Grey areas on our timetable indicate pool closures due to swimming lessons, schools, private hire groups and are unavailable for public swimming.
- Fun swims are 2 hour blocks. Please arrive at either 11 am, 1 pm or 3 pm to make full use of your 2 hour session. Please view the timetable for session availability.
There are currently no activities available.
We want to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable experience at our lido. That's why we have a team of experienced lifeguards on duty at all times. So come and enjoy a swim in our beautiful outdoor pool, surrounded by stunning views of the sea.
- Pool supervision: Supervision of children - A responsible adult 16+ may bring 2 children under the age of 8 but only 1 of those children can be under 5. The adult must be in the water with the children at all times.
- Our pool will only accept card payments, no cash. Lane Swims can be booked and or paid for in advance on our app or website. All other sessions you can turn up and pay and swim.

Our opening hours and admission prices vary depending on the type of activity. Please view our timetable above or download the Teignbridge Leisure app for sessions times. You can pay per session or purchase a swim pass and swim all day.

Decarbonisation works
We’ve completed the Teignmouth Lido decarbonisation project as part of our Carbon Action Plan to phase out the use of fossil fuel energy across our council-owned sites. The project will reduce our carbon footprint by 63 tonnes CO2 per year, the equivalent of taking 35 cars off the road, and make a vital contribution to achieving our climate change mitigation targets.
