Yoga

It’s time to roll out your yoga mat and discover the combination of physical and mental exercises that yoga can bring to your life. The beauty of yoga is that you don’t have to be a yogi or yogini to reap the benefits. Whether you are young or old, overweight or fit, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body - Yoga is for everyone!
If your fitness routine feels a little stale, trying a new kind of class can make it feel fresh again. Taking a Yoga class might be an excellent way to expand your fitness horizons and it might just become your new favourite workout. Our Yoga classes combine breathing and stretching with basic fitness principles through activity and relaxation that will help you improve your day to day activities and improve your mental wellbeing by releasing stresses from your body and mind.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga balances the nervous system as you rest in longer-held postures. It allows space to quiet the mind and heal. When you stimulate the connective tissue, it can help with flexibility, circulation, and muscle recovery. Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It's slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you're holding poses for a more extended period than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.

Pilates

If your fitness routine feels a little stale, trying a new kind of class can make it feel fresh again. Taking a Pilates class might be an excellent way to expand your fitness horizons and it might just become your new favourite workout.

What exactly is Pilates? Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance. Our instructors will support you through the development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness to support efficient, smooth movements.

Pilates is a full-body workout that will help you improve your day to day activities and improve your mental wellbeing by releasing stresses from your body and mind. It strengthens and stabilizes your core, which is your foundation, so that you can move efficiently while improving your posture, flexibility, and mobility.

Yogalates

You will be taken on a mindfulness journey where the two disciplines blend; Yoga and Pilates, finishing up with meditation. A Yogalates class may include popular yoga postures like downward-facing dog and the warrior poses with Sun Salutations, stretching and intense core and abdominal strength work. Some exercises may require props such as blocks, resistance bands and weights to intensify the effect. Yogalates may also feature breathing exercises, guided mindfulness and relaxation, depending on the teacher and style. It is likely to have a strong focus on alignment.

As well as the benefits of yoga and Pilates, Yogalates is believed to be particularly effective for improving muscle tone, developing a slimmer, more robust physique and even weight loss.

Ball Stability

It might look like something a child would play with but the stability ball is a fantastic piece of kit that will help you improve your core strength, stability and balance. Our stability balls class can strengthen the core (abdominal and lower back muscles). These muscles are used to perform daily activities. A strong core helps to protect the back and stabilize the whole body, including the spine, pelvis, hips and shoulders. The instructor will guide and support you through each exercise. Whether you're just starting with us or have been coming for some time - we progress as a class by helping each other.
