We offer a range of sports-based classes, including basketball, football and more. These classes are a great way to improve your skills in a fun and supportive environment. You'll be able to work on your agility, speed, and coordination, all while getting a great workout.

In addition to our sports-based classes, we also offer a variety of other group exercise classes, such as yoga, Pilates, and indoor cycling. Short Tennis

Also known as short-court tennis or mini tennis, which is played on a badminton court but twice the fun! Typically played for a shorter duration than standard tennis and is perfect for anyone new to tennis, or simply as a fun activity of its own. Short tennis is played with softballs, lower nets and smaller rackets.

 

Pickle ball

Fun, social and friendly. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

When playing pickle ball, each player will need a pickle ball paddle, which is smaller than a tennis racquet but larger than a ping-pong paddle. Players will also need a net and a pickleball. The ball is unique, with holes through it. The good news is we provide all the equipment. All you need to bring is a refillable water bottle, friends to play with and a big smile.

 

Walking Football

It's what it sounds like – a classic game of football where players walk instead of run. It's designed to help people get fit or maintain an active lifestyle no matter their age and fitness and support people getting back into football if they have given it up due to age or injury.

People who play have seen many benefits: lower heart rate and blood pressure, less fat and more muscle, and better mobility. And it's not just health benefits - walking football also offers social benefits. Participants can meet new people, avoid becoming isolated and interact with individuals and small groups-This is one sporting activity that is suitable for all.

 

Walking Basketball

Delivers a walking version of the fast and furious game we are familiar with. This new sport provides low impact, cardio exercise as it involves brisk walking up and down the court. Playing as part of a team brings a sense of camaraderie which is mentally challenging and rewarding.

Back to Netball

Do you fancy playing a fun team game or perhaps enjoyed netball at school and would like to rekindle the team spirit? If so, come along to our fun netball sessions, become part of a team and learn or improve your skills and fitness. Regularly practising solo and team drills will improve your ball control, agility and speed. All you need is a netball and your body to get started. Our instructors Jo and Hannah will support and guide all netball levels and abilities through each session, focusing on several drills and finishing with a game.

 

Back to Football

Get your weekly football fix at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre. Whether you enjoy the game but have nowhere to play or want to get back into playing again, our Back To Football session is for you! An FA qualified coach will deliver our Back To Football Sessions. Each week you can expect several drills and game-based activities.

Cancellation policy

  • Notice of cancellation must be given at least 2 hours before the booking; otherwise, a fee will be retained for pay as you go users and applied to members' accounts at the standard price of the activity.
  • All leisure users who fail to attend and/or cancel within 2 hours on three occasions within a 30 day period will lose their booking privileges for a month.
